Mary Hopkin - Earth Song / Ocean Song (CD, Album)

 · Earth Song/Ocean Song. More folk-oriented than her first effort, Mary Hopkin's lilting voice soothes the listener like hot tea with honey. Included in this set, which was produced by Tony Visconti, are her interpretations of Ralph McTell's "Streets of London," Cat Stevens' "The Wind," and Gallagher & Lyle's "International."8/10(25).

  1. Issued in , this is Mary Hopkin's coming-of-age collection, packed with socially-conscious, lyrically-aware anthems from the cream of the era's folk protagonists: Ralph McTell, Gallagher & Lyle, Tom Paxton, Cat Stevens, Harvey Andrews and the relatively unknown Liz Thorsen who wrote the collection’s title songs, ‘Earth Song’ and ‘Ocean Song’. 2. Verified Purchase. I once read that Mary Hopkin referred to her first album on the Apple Label as being Paul McCartney's but "Earth Song, Ocean Song" was her album. Mary Hopkin has released many more albums through her own label and is actively recording. I do like her first Apple album, "Postcard" but it is overly produced and the song "There's No Business Like Show Business" is filler/5(35).
